अच्छे मजदूरों की आर्थिक
स्थिति अवश्य नहीं; कि खाना खा सकें।
नहीं कि बैठकी व्यवस्था नहीं
खाना खा सकें।

मजदूरों के घर
फूस (खर-पात) से बने होते थे।
किसी किसी को एक ही घर में पूरा परिवार
रहता था। शौच के लिये कोई उचित व्यवस्था
के बाहर मैदान में और गाँव में स्थित
अके स्थानों में जाना पड़ता था।

मजदूरों के घर के समीप
मालिक की इतनी जमीन पड़ी
हो रहती थी जिसमें शौचालय
की व्यवस्था की जा सकती थी।
लेकिन इतना सोचने के लिए
उनलोगों के पास शायद समय
नहीं था। काम करके थके
और घर पहुंचकर खाना खाकर
सो जाते। यह प्रतिदिन का व्यक्रम
था। उनको अपने मन में दृढ़ आर्थिक
स्थिति के बावजूद कोई नहीं।
अन्य विश्वास में एक यह
भी था कि इस जन्म में

The economic condition of good laborers was certainly not such that they could eat food. Not that there was no sitting arrangement to eat food.

The houses of laborers were made of straw (khar-paat). Some had to accommodate entire families in a single house. There was no proper arrangement for toilets, they had to go to open fields and specific places in the village.

Near the laborers' houses, the landlord had so much land lying vacant where toilet facilities could have been arranged. But perhaps they didn't have time to think about this. They would get tired from work, reach home, eat food and sleep. This was the daily routine. Despite their firm economic situation in their minds, there was none.
