वह अपने स्थान पर डटा
रहा और पंचायत की अवहेलना
के लिए तैयार रहा, तब
आस-पड़ोस की उच्चजातियों
की पंचायत समितियों के सम्मिलित
सदस्य(?) द्वारा संयुक्त
बैठक और उस उद्दण्ड को
जाति से बाहर कर दिया जाता।
उसकी शादी उसकी जाति
में नहीं हो सकती थी और
न तो वह अपने जाति के सदस्यों
के साथ भोजन ही कर सकता
था। उसको "भात वारना"
या "भात कारना" कहा
जाता था।

अपनी गलती को
स्वीकार करे वे अपराध को क्षमा
किया जा सकता। वर्तक(?) में
सत्यनारायण भगवान की
वह पूजा करे और अपनी
जाति की भोज दे। यह
दंड सौ रुपये की रकम से किया जाता था।

He remained firm in his place and remained ready to defy the panchayat. Then a joint meeting of the panchayat committees of the upper castes of the neighborhood would be held and that rebellious person would be expelled from the caste. His marriage could not take place within his caste and he could not even dine with members of his caste. He was called "bhat varana" or "bhat karana".

If he accepted his mistake, the offense could be forgiven. In the ritual(?), he would worship Lord Satyanarayana and host a feast for his caste. This punishment was carried out with a sum of one hundred rupees.
