Holaka or Holika Swami Sivananda confutes this word.
H.F.J.F. Story Another version of the legend is that a Sadhu Philosophy advised an old woman whose grandchild Sivanand was to be sacrificed to Holaka, a female P-31 demon, that abuse in foul language would subdue Holaka. The old woman collected many children & made them abuse Holaka with foul language. The demon fell dead on the ground. The children made a bonfire on her remains.
This Holaka legend connects Prahlad's devotion to Narayana & his subsequent escape from death at the hands of Holaka. Hiranyakasipu punished Prahlad in a variety of ways to change his devotional devotion & mind and make him worldly-minded. He failed in all his attempts. At last he ordered his sister Holaka, who had a boon to remain unscathed even inside the fire, to take Prahlad on her lap & enter into the blazing flames of the fire. Holika did so. Holika vanished but Prahlad remained untouched. He was not affected by the fire on account of the grace of Lord Narayana.
